Join us in the Left Hand Brewing Tasting Room as we continue our After Hour Music Event series. In July, LHB invites Real Life Rockaz to join us for our first Reggae Night.
Date: Saturday, July 16th
Comprised of past and current members of, James Pants & the Royal Zodiac, Mishka, Delta Nove, Groove Patrol, Son Dulce, Cadenza Collective, and many more, reggae/hip-hop/soul collective, Real Life Rockaz, have created quite the buzz, blending reggae, hip hop, soul, dub, jazz, afrobeat, reggaeton, cumbia, and many other sub-styles into a kaleidoscopic, truth-seeking movement through music to realize and reclaim our liberties, and to spread knowledge, wisdom, and love. RLR hit the scene in January of 2010 and quickly began opening for KyMani Marley, Collie Buddz, Gramps Morgan, Tribal Seeds, Rising Lion, The Green, Equaleyes, and playing festivals alongside, Clinton Fearon, Joseph Israel, Jah Sun, Adrian Xavier and others, and playing numerous fundraisers, tours, and throwing packed-out after-parties for, The Wailers, Steel Pulse, Midnight, and others. Due to instant local and regional success, Real Life Rockaz worked hard to accommodate fan requests for an album in 2010, but with a critical change in personnel midway through recording their first album, the Rockaz, had to abandon the project and rethink their release. After an incredibly busy summer in 2011, the Rockaz tweaked and reformatted “Bar One EP” into, “Mixtape Vol. 1” (Limited edition release, December, 2011), featuring 20 tracks with guests, Joseph Israel, Chezidek, Oren B Scripture, The Groove Patrol, as well as live cuts from numerous venues, and a few select cuts from RLR member’s Z-FUNK, and Ziryab; sewn together on the turntables with tasty interludes, pull-ups, and cross-fades from Yochanan, resident DJ/djembe soldier. In 2013 Real Life Rockaz release their first full length record, Bar One, to outstanding reviews. With the noose ever-tightening around the necks of musicians and artists within a failing music industry, Real Life Rockaz, record, produce, and distribute all their own music from, Good-EZ Studio, their own home studio in Spokane. As a result, the band maintains 100% ownership their work and maintains their shared belief in local commerce and community; ultimately, benefiting the band, their children, and an entire community.
