Phoenix – Street Level Sales Rep

Left Hand Brewing Company is looking for an outstanding candidate to join our rapidly growing market in Phoenix, AZ. The qualified candidate will be instrumental in building sales and education in the assigned territory through account promotional activity, festivals and key events. This is an entry level sales position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND/OR PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A passion for craft beer
  • An understanding of brewing and beer styles is strongly preferred as well as a desire to learn more.
  • Familiar with draft system dynamics and ability to troubleshoot is preferred.
  • These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Local sales & promos representative job. These include but are not limited to the ability to stand at times for long periods, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or lift awkward objects weighing up to 165lbs.
  • Maintains valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to work late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays to support sales activities.
  • Maintains professionalism when working in environments when the taps are flowing.
  • Work well independently and a creative problem solver.
  • Tolerate summer/winter temperature conditions and varying event environments.
  • Proven ability to manage time and priorities in an effective and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Sales

  • With ASM, creates a territory structure that allows for daily visits to core and prospective accounts.
  • Establishes action plans prior to visiting accounts; utilizes VIP/Armadillo data and appropriate collateral/sales materials and records account calls in Karma notes.
  • Always 100% prepared to sell at all times with samples and support materials.
  • Actively sells to all on- and off-premise accounts.
  • Monitors new account openings with the goal of being one of the first craft beer reps to make a sales call.
  • Sells POS and programs to retail accounts and merchandises LHBC products where legal.
  • Conducts tastings and promotions in accounts.
  • Attends and pours beer at key festivals and events in the territory.
  • Effectively communicates the long-term growth and profit potential of the craft beer industry to all accounts and customers in the assigned territory, specifically LHBC.

Missouri Sales Position

Left Hand Brewing Company is searching for a brewery sales representative based in Kansas City or St. Louis, MO, and will cover Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. The focus of this position is to increase Left Hand Brewery’s sales by building strong relationships with key accounts and to promote and foster brand loyalty and development through marketing events for the beer drinking public. 80% of your time spent is in the marketplace.

Requirements or preferred experience:

  • Sales experience in the adult beverage world.  Sales/distribution
  • Collaborates well with others in the industry – On/Off Premise as well as our distributor partners.

General Responsibilities:

Brewery Education

  • Be the Left Hand Champion in all marketplaces, having a firm understanding of, and be able to explain in detail, the company’s history, community involvement, beer portfolio and short- and long-term vision.
  • Explain the long-term growth and profit potential of the craft beer industry, specifically Left Hand.
  • Disseminate information to accounts about upcoming beer launches, seasonal releases, brewery initiatives, Point-of-Sale, etc.

Organizational

  • Manage time and priorities in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a weekly/bi-weekly planner of goals and distributor/account calls.
  • Be familiar with draft system dynamics and have the ability to troubleshoot when necessary.
  • Be fluent and current in each state’s liquor license codes and regulations.
  • Utilize all sales-related software (i.e. VIP, Karma, Concur, Trip Cubby, etc.) on a regular basis as requested by the National Sales Manager and Regional Sales Manager.

Reporting

  • Act as the key conduit of information back to the Regional Sales Manager, including, but not limited to, distributor market price lists and post-off schedules, competitor pricing and materials, and opportunities to build the business.
  • Manage, update and disseminate the following to the Regional Sales Manager: market visit reports following time spent in each market, planners/recaps, expense reports, etc.
  • Manage, update and disseminate market visit reports to each distributor partner as requested.

Distributor Partners

  • Gain an intimate and working knowledge of each distributor partner’s organization, including an open relationship with all members of the management and sales teams.
  • Complete working knowledge of all distributor partner pricing, including different deal levels and special incentives.
  • Provide distributor partners with sales literature, technical assistance and sales training as needed.
  • Assist all distributor partners in promoting sales of the products, and helping build consumer acceptance of the products.
  • Establish an action plan prior to visiting market, utilizing sales reps, VIP information, and appropriate collateral/sales materials.
  • Manage distributor partner activity, including, but not limited to, program development and implementation, monthly and quarterly sales meetings, and promotional calendar development and execution.
  • Regularly planned account/market visits with distributor partner’s sales reps
  • Manage all distributor partners’ POS inventory on a monthly basis.

Account Services

  • Represent Left Hand Brewing Company in the retail trade as the first point of contact for the brewery.
  • Establish regular contact and build relationships with key decision makers at Key Accounts, both on and off premise, in order to gain sales and distribution.
  • Work closely with each distributor’s sales reps in each market On and Off Premise.

Media Manager:

Left Hand Brewing Company is searching for a Media Manager based in Longmont, CO.  The focus of this position is to manage Left Hand Brewing Company’s message to the outside world via direct media outreach, media strategy and buying, social media activity, and content on lefthandbrewing.com as well as directing and mentoring the Brand Ambassador.

Requirements or preferred experience:

  • Media buying
  • Social media guru
  • Versed in SEO and digital analytics
  • Experienced in press outreach, pitching stories, being in front of and behind the camera
  • Strong written and oral skills
  • Knowledge of the beer industry is preferred

General Responsibilities:

Public and Media Relations

  • Oversees the ‘brewery voice’ in all verbal and written communications, internally and externally, including, but not limited to: media relationships, press releases, brewery statements, strategic angles and pitches, samples, interviews, photography and filming opportunities.
  • Maintains and cultivates media relationships, including maintaining an active and relevant media distribution list.
  • Researches and develops new opportunities across all different types of media to establish relationships and a presence with key media contacts.
  • Stays on top of industry news and publications.
  • Maintains digital ad tracking spreadsheet.
  • Continually monitors public temperament, and alerts team of potential pitfalls and plans accordingly.
  • Ensures Brand Ambassador engages with the public and media across all designated events, cultivates brand loyalty, and creates memorable customer experiences.

Media

  • Identifies paid media with greatest exposure to target demographic.
  • Assists Marketing Director in all aspects of media, including, but not limited to: strategic planning, media planning, execution, buys and trade for corporate branding, campaigns, beers and markets.

Social Media (SM)

  • Oversees all SM channels, online profiles, and third party applications, including, but not limited to: content strategy, brand cohesion, brewery voice, ROI, and demographic data.
  • Researches social media and beer industry trends, news, and tools; pursues educational opportunities.
  • Acts as the point of contact for all social media.

Newsletters

  • Oversees all brand newsletter communication: Internal, Distributor, and Consumer, including, but not limited to: content creation, distribution, and performance.

Website

  • Collaborates with the Design Manager on all websites, including, but not limited to: strategic layout, event content, promotional pages, individual webpage maintenance, and sticker sighting submissions.
  • Manages and maintains Left Hand Blog.
  • Utilizes Google Analytics to monitor consumer audience, engagement, and user flow for general performance and objectives for reaching marketing goals.

Official Brewery Documents and Information

  • Creates and maintains all official informational and historical company documents including, but not limited to: Brewery history, beer background information, Awards, and Brewery Archive materials.

Fiscal Responsibility

  • Oversees and manages specific Marketing budgets, as well as capital expense requests and presentations.
  • Analyzes all budgets on a regular basis to ensure appropriate spending.
