Team Left Hand Hits $2 Million for Multiple Sclerosis

LONGMONT, CO • September 27th, 2016 – Team Left Hand believes in giving back to the communities where they work, live, and play, and that means helping others that have Multiple Sclerosis live better lives around the country. With 9 years, 6 states, 482 riders, and countless miles under their belt, Left Hand Brewing’s community bike teams have a new number to add – $2 Million. This September, Team Left Hand has surpassed the $2 million mark in funds raised for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Founded in 2008, Team Left Hand are active participants in five Bike MS rides across Colorado, Florida, Ohio, the Carolinas, and Texas. With each ride spanning up to 150 miles, team riders are dedicated advocates, each working towards their personal goal of raising $1000 a year. “Team members really pull through in their personal and collective efforts. In addition to brewing collaborative beers and hosting special events, we’ve seen shaving challenges, water balloon battles and jazzercise classes all to benefit MS.” shares Sara Barfoot, Team Left Hand Coordinator.

Led by Left Hand Brewing Co., the national team has grown to 482 riders including 24 employees. “We are simply doing our part to raise awareness and raise funds for research and programs to make MS stand for Mystery Solved.” shares Chris Lennert, National Team Captain. Funds raised support the National MS Society fund research, advocate for change, and help people living with MS. “We are grateful to Team Left Hand for their dedication to changing the world for people living with MS and for the Bike MS teams they’ve built in several markets.” shares Stacy Mulder, Bike MS Vice President. “Teams like Left Hand are an important part of Bike MS because of their significant fundraising but also because of the incredible experience they provide to their team members and the outreach to the community.” With three Bike MS rides still to come and over $500K raised this year alone, Team Left Hand pedals on!

Riders interested in joining Team Left Hand are encouraged to visit in early 2017 for sign up opportunities.
